Aubrey Drake Graham is a Canadian born actor and recording artist. On the acting side, rapper drake is best known for playing Jimmy Brooks, the physically disabled basketball player on the hit show, Degrassi. As a rapper, he is known as Drake. Drake released his first mixtape, Room for Improvement, in 2006. As mixtap  es usually are, it was
made available via Drake’s website and
MySpace page. It proved to be extremely successful prompting Drake to release his second Mixtape in 2007 called Comeback Season. Again, Drake garnered critical acclaim, to the point where heavy-weight like Lil Wayne, Kanye West, and Jay-Z were all vying for a chance to meet the up-n-comer. Drake ended up partnering with Lil Wayne, rapping to the remix of the already popular song "Man of the Year". 2008 saw the release of Heartbreak Drake, which lead Drake to release his current mixtape in 2009, So Far Gone which features, Lil Wayne, Jay-Z, Trey Songs, and Mr. West. Drake has also written for all the top producers such as Dr. Dre and Mr. Cartier. What is the most appealing about Drake’s success story is that he was able to do all of this without the help of a record label. Now, every label under the sun if vying to sign him for U.S. distribution, including Island Def Jam, Atlantic, Warner/Chappell and Bad Boy Records. He is currently signed to ATF in Canada. Drake is managed by Hip Hop Since 1978, which is the artist management company that also manages the likes of Kanye West, Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, and Saigon. 
ACTING Audbrey Drake started his acting career in Toronto, Canada, on the hit show Degrassi: The Next Generation which aired in 2001. The show was extremely popular across the country. Many doubted that a kid who played a physically-disabled basketball player on a kids tv show could rise to fame and share the same stage with the likes of Lil Wayne and Jay-Z. Audbrey is proving all the haters wrong, as he is doing just that! THERE IS A FAKE ALBUM ON I TUNES CALLED “THE GIRLS LOVE DRAKE” THAT IS NOT A DRAKE ALBUM. IT WAS RELEASED ILLEGALLY. DO NOT PURCHASE!! LIL WAYNE Lil Wayne, whose actual name is Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. was born on September 27, 1982 in Hollygrove, New Orleans. He went to Lafayette Elementry School till the age of 14 before shooting himself by mistake and pairing up with Cash Money Records owners, Bryan Williams all in the same year. The first album that Wayne released was with his former boy band, Hot Boys. It was entitled, Get It How U Live. The album did not get the critical acclaim that Wayne had hoped, but, he was only 15 at the time. Still young, Wayne went on his own and released his first solo album at age 17 entitled The Block is Hot, which came out in 1999. This album went double platinum and reached 3 on the Billboard Hot 200. After this amazing success, Lil Wayne released his second album, Lights Out which was a failure, only going gold, which is 500,000 copies, while his debut album went double platinum, 2,000,000...  While
on a tour bus prepping his third album, Wayne was reportedly shot in
the chest. This is the second time Wayne claims to be
shot.
The 1st time Wayne says he shot himself with a gun himself.
The
second time, he said the bullet was slowed down when it went through
his tour-bus window and therefore did not kill him, but just broke
through his skin. Wayne’s 3rd album also only went
Gold. It was called 500
Degreez. Wanye then released Tha Carter and Tha Carter II, from 2004-5, together, totaling worldwide sales of over 4 million. A huge success!! Wayne finally realized something very important, which he would teach to then unknown Degrassi star, Drake. The rap game was CHANGING! Rappers needed to release mixtapes and perform on other artists songs, instead of releasing albums, so Wayne did just that. For the next two years, instead of working on another album, Wayne just made sure he was featured on other artist’s songs. Gimme That by Chris Brown, Make It Rain by Fat Joe, You by Lloyd, and We Takin Over by DJ Khaled which also featured Akon, T.I., Rick Ross, Fat Joe, and Birdman, and Duffle Bag Boy by Playaz Circle, All these singles charted within the top 20 spots on the Billboard Hot 100. He won a Grammy for a duet with Jay-Z in 2008. Lil Wayne then released the critically acclaimed The Carter III, which had singles such as Lollipop, Mr. Carter, and A Milli. It sold over 1 million copies in its first week. Lil Wayne is set to release his next album in August. It will be a rock album entitled, The Rebirth. |
